Join us for the second session in the Second Generation Survivors seminar series, Return to Life: Liberated But Not Free, presented by Chaim Fischgrund. This session will explore how the Jewish families who were liberated from the camps began to pick up the pieces of their lives. In breakout rooms, second-generation participants will share personal experiences of survival and rebirth, the return to the life of their parents, and how it impacted their lives.
Chaim Fischgrund serves on the Executive Committee of the Next Generations to Holocaust and Heroism Legacy in Israel. He was born in 1947 in a displaced person’s camp in Germany to Holocaust survivor parents. He has served on the emissary for the Jewish Agency in South Africa and was principal and headmaster of the Alexander Muss High School in Israel.
Forum for Dialogue is the biggest and oldest non-governmental organization working in the realm of Polish/Jewish relations. We work in small Polish towns, which once had vibrant Jewish communities, making our goal to share our experience gained from two decades of Forum’s work. This work encompasses a network of people working on commemoration, preserving and researching communities and connections of yesterday and today.
