Since 1980, Dr. Simon J. Carmel has been conducting research on deaf Holocaust survivors and their testimonies and holding seminars and workshops on this subject at universities, deaf clubhouses, and schools for the deaf in the US, Germany, and Russia. Carmel will speak about how several deaf Jewish people of different concentration camps in Poland and Germany managed to survive, as well as the forced sterilization of non-Jewish deaf Germans under the Nazi program in 1933-1945.
Free and open to the public.
Program will include ASL translation.
