Join us for a lecture exploring the multi-sided story of a hidden treasure on the map of North-Eastern Europe- the Jews of Vilnius, past and present. Explore with Dr. Shay Pilnik the rich history of the city and the tragic fate of Vilne’s Jews, a Jewish community that had emerged in the late Middle Ages, left a tremendous impact on the shaping of modern Jewish identity, religion and culture, and was almost completely annihilated during the Holocaust. The Milwaukee Jewish Federation’s community mission this fall includes a stop in Vilnius.
