Violins of Hope

Educators – bring Violins of Hope into your classroom!

The Violins of Hope-Wisconsin are a collection of instruments restored from the Holocaust. Many of them survived ghettos and camps, played by Jewish musicians either by force, or as an act of resistance. The Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra (MYSO) will be bringing these instruments to Milwaukee from September 2025 through January 2026. The Nathan and Esther Pelz Holocaust Education Resource Center (HERC) is partnering with MYSO to provide in class learning opportunities for students and virtual learning opportunities for educators and students.

Opportunities include:

• One hour in-class student workshop
• One hour virtual student workshop
• 1-2 hour in-person professional development
• 1-2 hour virtual professional development
• Field trips

Nathan and Esther Pelz Holocaust Education Resource Center, Milwaukee Jewish Federation , and Jewish Museum Milwaukee  are proud partners of Violins of Hope – Wisconsin, presented by Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra (MYSO).
