A man wearing glasses and a dark short-sleeved shirt stands presenting to a small group seated around a conference table in a modern meeting room. A projection screen displays historical images, and a colorful geometric wall art piece in blue, green, and yellow tones is visible behind the speaker.

Echoes & Reflections Training

Echoes & Reflections Training

HERC partners with Echoes & Reflections, a leading Holocaust education program developed by the Anti-Defamation League, USC Shoah Foundation, and Yad Vashem to offer training to K-12 educators in Wisconsin.

Echoes & Reflections Training

About:

Through this partnership, HERC staff have been trained to deliver Echoes & Reflections’ comprehensive, classroom-ready curriculum to educators across Wisconsin. The program equips teachers with pedagogically sound lessons, primary sources, and survivor testimony to help students examine the history of the Holocaust and reflect on its relevance today. Educators can also explore HERC’s Holocaust Education Map, which offers interactive resources matched to social studies standards. Together, these tools provide flexible options for bringing meaningful Holocaust education into your classroom. Contact us to learn more about professional development opportunities.

TWO DIFFERENT ECHOES & REFLECTIONS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPTIONS:

Foundations of Holocaust Education

This professional development session will give you the
tools to teach and initiate important discussions about
the complex lessons of the Holocaust. In exploring
classroom-tested strategies that can be implemented in
your classroom, you will leave with increased confidence
and effective materials to tackle the tough questions your
students have about this subject. The why. The how.

Antisemitism: Understanding and Countering this Hatred Today

It is critical for young people to understand the dangers of antisemitism today and the threat that it poses to both Jewish and non-Jewish populations. This program helps teachers to educate about antisemitism, examining its complexities from historic and contemporary perspectives. Educators gain strategies to help students respond to and counter antisemitism and forms of hate.

Location:

Training can be held at your school, virtually, or on-site at the Milwaukee Jewish Federation.
