Teacher Professional Development

The Nathan and Esther Pelz Holocaust Education Resource Center hosts a number of professional development opportunities throughout the year.  It strives to provide the education, tools, and resources necessary for Wisconsin educators to enter the classroom prepared to teach difficult topics related to the Holocaust.  To learn more about any of these opportunities contact us at SamG@MilwaukeeJewish.org.

CESA Workshops – Navigating Act 30: Teaching the Holocaust and other Genocides

In accordance with Act 30, the Nathan and Esther Pelz Holocaust Education Center (HERC) is offering professional development providing tools to teach the Holocaust and other genocides. The first day of this training will provide educators with background knowledge on the Holocaust, as well as tangible examples for how they can use this material in their classrooms. The second day educators will conduct their own research on a different case of genocide using the demonstrated framework. Lastly, we will talk about methodology, the dos and don’ts of Holocaust education. This workshop will leave educators with the information and resources needed to implement the new Holocaust and genocide mandate.

*Please reach out to your CESA for registration information.
