How is architecture used to commit genocide?

Perhaps no other concentration camp informs our understanding and memory of the Holocaust more than Auschwitz. Yet how was it built, and who were the architects who made it physically possible?

Dr. Robert Jan van Pelt, a professor at the University of Waterloo’s School of Architecture, was an expert witness in Deborah Lipstadt’s defense in the civil libel suit brought against her by British author and Holocaust denier David Irving in 1996.
