Author and Professor Emeritus of sociology at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, Ronald J. Berger, will share the true story of two Jewish brothers who survived the Holocaust in Nazi occupied Poland. One brother was the author’s father who survived several concentration camps, including Auschwitz and the winter death march. The other brother was the author’s uncle who survived outside of the camps by passing as a Catholic among anti-Semitic Poles, eventually becoming an officer in the Soviet Army.
