At Yom HaShoah we remember the Six Million Jews murdered during the Shoah and honor Holocaust survivors and their descendants. We come together as a community to ensure that their lives are never forgotten.
Esther Safran Foer, author and former Executive Director of Sixth & I Synagogue in Washington D.C.
Ms. Foer is an American writer and nonprofit executive of Polish-Jewish descent, best known for her 2010 memoir I Want You to Know We’re Still Here: A Post-Holocaust Memoir, which chronicles her investigation into her family’s obscured Holocaust history, including the discovery of her father’s previous wife and daughter murdered by Nazis.
