To better understand how the Holocaust unfolded, we need to examine the rise of Nazism during Germany’s Weimar Republic (1918-1932), before Hitler’s rise to power. Dr. Staudenmaier will investigate the fateful choices that ordinary citizens made while there was still hope for democracy.
Peter Staudenmaier is Associate Professor of History, with a focus on modern Europe, at Marquette University.
